3PieceNecklace

Twice the Giving in Columbus Ohio this Holiday Season

We are excited to announce that this holiday season at Old Hilliard Coin & Fine Art we will be offering a special holiday promotion. Until December 31st, 2015 we will be donating 20% of the proceeds from the sale of goods in our store to the Military Veterans Resource Center. The center is located here in Columbus, Ohio working to serve the needs of our local veterans.

For Just $1 You Could Feed a Veteran FOUR Meals!

In the spirit of the holidays we wanted to find a way to give back to our community. Old Hilliard Coin & Fine Art has always found beauty in historic American coins and has been a strong supporter of American made products as well. Therefore, who better to support during the holiday season than those who have served our country to make it the wonderful place it is today. Our goal is to do more this holiday season and truly count our blessings by helping our local veterans.

Help Support Your Local Columbus Ohio Community

Featured in the gallery this month are artworks by 5 local Columbus artists, handmade scarfs, redesigned coin jewelry, coin fashion accessories by Tokens & Icons, cigars from Hilliard Culebra Cigars, repurposed handbags from Peg & Awl, and as always certified coins and our permanent collection of artwork by Yuroz and other artists. Stop by our store located in historic downtown Hilliard for a look at the full collection of items in store!

Is Gold Still Sexy?

Many investors are fearful that the end of gold’s run is near, and you can’t blame them one bit! But those who buy gold now (even with possible further declines that may be as low as $1200/oz) could very well be the ones that make out like bandits in the end. Central banks remain net buyers, having boosted their holdings by more than 15 million ounces in 2012 and this could double in 2013. Historically, fiat currency is at risk and gold continues to represent real wealth and for that reason, we will continue to buy. Not all at once but dollar cost averaging into this shiny metal over time can ultimately bring a big boost in profits.

To answer the question, we think yes, gold is still sexy and leaner and meaner too! We like mixing this precious metal with certified numismatic coinage as part of a carefully reasoned, practical and well-proven investment strategy.
